Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy’s Mission
is to improve the quality of life both physically and emotionally of adults and children with disabilities through equine assisted activities.
At HETRA we see students with a variety of disabilities including cerebral palsy, hearing impairments, down syndrome, head injuries, visual impairments, head or spinal cord injuries, autism, and developmental delays. Our students benefit from therapeutic riding in a variety of ways.
HETRA’s Tack Shack & Show Clothes Boutique offers many wonderful items for sale including saddles, bridles, winter blankets, show clothes, boots and more. All proceeds will benefit HETRA’s Student Sponsorship fund. HETRA is accepting tack and show clothing donations as well as consignment items.
Without our dedicated Volunteers we wouldn’t have a therapeutic riding program! HETRA is always looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to become part of the HETRA team. To become a volunteer, you DO NOT need to have experience with horses or disability knowledge. Volunteering is a simple two step process!
