Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy’s Mission
is to improve the quality of life both physically and emotionally of adults and children with disabilities through equine assisted activities.
At HETRA we see participants with a variety of disabilities including cerebral palsy, hearing impairments, down syndrome, head injuries, visual impairments, head or spinal cord injuries, autism, and developmental delays. Our participants benefit from therapeutic riding in a variety of ways.
HETRA’s Tack Shack & Show Clothes Boutique offers many wonderful items for sale including saddles, bridles, winter blankets, show clothes, boots and more. All proceeds will benefit HETRA’s Participant Sponsorship fund. HETRA is accepting tack and show clothing donations as well as consignment items.
Without our dedicated Volunteers we wouldn’t have a therapeutic riding program! HETRA is always looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to become part of the HETRA team. To become a volunteer, you DO NOT need to have experience with horses or disability knowledge. Volunteering is a simple two step process!

Little Britches Horse Show
HETRA’s Little Britches Horse show is scheduled for Saturday August 27, 2016. This show is open to all kids ages 12 and under. We will also be offering special needs classes.
If you are planning to participate in this years show please check out the Pledge-A-Thon. There are some great prizes available for those participating! Also the Pledge-A-Thon will count towards High Point Awards.
