Tuesdays with Tenneson ; Brain Games
Today is the 1st day of Spring! Springtime means that my barn mates and I start shedding our winter coats. Soon there will be sunshine, green grass, open doors on the barn and lots of play time outside with my friends!
Speaking of friends, my people here at HETRA had a TON of friends over to the barn last weekend! They had tours, classes and demonstrations. I even got to participate in a demonstration! It was for the Region 7 PATH International Conference. There were folks from Therapeutic Riding centers in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. They sure seemed to be having a good time! I hope they learned a lot and have some new ideas for their own horses and riders.
Another fun thing that has been happening right where I can see it is the Life Skills Program. Life Skills participants are learning skills like barn maintenance, cleaning, grooming and tacking, horse leading, even retail sales in HETRA’s Tack Shack! It has been a big hit and lots of fun to see everyone working together and learning from me and my friends.
