Tuesdays with Tenneson; Days of Winter

Published on February 20, 2018 under Uncategorized
Brrrrrr!  It sure has been cold outside the last couple of weeks!  I’m so glad that my stablemates and I have a toasty warm barn and cozy blankets to wear outside.  My friends even got a few days off from lessons because it was too cold for riders.  They are pretty disappointed to miss out on time with their human friends, but understand that everyone needs to stay warm!

My friend Star earned his retirement in January.  He has gone to live with some nice people that have big green pastures, a comfy barn and nice friends for him to hang out with.  He spent 10 years at HETRA and everyone here will miss him.  I bet he will enjoy his retirement!  It wasn’t too long after Star left that a new palomino joined the barn.  His name is Diesel and he seems really nice!  He is a retired show horse and comes highly recommended.  I sure hope he likes it at HETRA!  He is in training right now and he is doing super!

Macy has completed her training and is scheduled to start working this week!  I am so excited for her.  I know she is looking forward to meeting some of the students that come here and helping them become riders.

I heard a rumor from down the hall that Ellie is back to work!  She had to take some time off to rest, but she is feeling better and ready for her students again.  That’s so great!  I love seeing my sweet friends doing what they love.  I’m going to put my nose to the grindstone and train hard so the staff here knows that I’m ready for students of my own as well!

Did you know the Horse of The Year race is off to a great start?  I think I am in 3rd place right now!  How awesome is that!  There are so many great people supporting us and showing us that they care about us! If you’d like to find more info about the Horse of the Year Race, you can find out more here:
