Life Skills
Parents, caregivers, and service providers are searching for innovative approaches to life skills and vocational education, and our program delivers just that—through hands-on, experiential learning in our agricultural and equine-based environment. Our year-round program is designed to develop self-awareness, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities that translate into everyday life.

A Unique, Hands-On Approach to Learning
Unlike traditional classrooms, our program immerses participants in nature-based learning through horse interactions, teamwork in the barn, and responsibilities that build independence. Summer sessions even include gardening, providing opportunities for personal growth and a deeper connection to the environment.
One parent shared their child's experience,“(Our son) loves going to HETRA. You challenge him and allow him to succeed. This is a program with vision and focus. He comes home and talks about healthy lifestyle choices for himself. He has pride in the work that he does around the farm. He can work and work hard, and HETRA does a fabulous job of bringing out the best in him.”
