Miniature Horse Programming at HETRA

HETRA’s Miniature Horse Programming brings the power of Equine-Assisted Services to the community through meaningful, hands-on experiences with our miniature horses. Our mini horses help participants of all abilities build confidence, develop life skills, and experience the unique comfort and joy that horses can provide. We offer two types of programs: on-site mini-visits to schools and community organizations, and engaging mini-camps held at the HETRA barn. 

Miniature Horse Visits (Mini-Visits)

HETRA's miniature horses have been spreading joy and comfort to long-term care facilities, day programs, and schools in the greater Metro Omaha area. Recently, a staff member at one of the organizations we visited remarked, "It's amazing to witness how much calmer some of the students become around the horses."

HETRA is thrilled to partner with local programs and bring Equine-Assisted Learning programs to individuals who cannot visit our campus. These on-site programs provide a unique opportunity for individuals to meet and interact with the horses in person, promoting a positive impact on their mental and emotional well-being.

Miniature Horse Camps (Mini-Camps)

Seasonal 2-Day Mini-Camps at HETRA

Meet HETRA’s mini horses and participate in fun activities! We host seasonal 2-day mini-camps at the HETRA barn. Participants will learn about health and wellness, communication, and teamwork.
